Indigo: Huh? What did the title say? My all? This is an outrage! I thought God was just a really cool "add-on" to my life. I didn't know that I'm supposed to give God something!

Chaplin: Yeah Indigo, God does desire a lot from you. He is not just an "add-on" to you life. When you are saved, He is your life.

Sinbad da Salior: Well that's okay; I've got a lot to offer God...

Chaplin: No Sinbad, the Bible says that all we can offer Him are "filthy rags"...

Indigo: Did you just dis him?

Chaplin (in a stern voice): No, I'm just saying the truth.

Indigo: Okay.

Chaplin: God doesn't save us for anything that we can offer Him. He saves us for the work that He will do in us.

Indigo: Did you just dis him again?

Chaplin: Indigo!

Indigo: Sorry.

Chaplin: God desires praise from us... that is why we were put on this Earth...

Sinbad da Sailor: What?

Chaplin: That's another story...

Sinbad da Sailor: Oh.

Chaplin: Anyways, that's why God put us here, so that we could praise Him with our all!

Indigo: Everything?

Chaplin: Yep.

Indigo: How about a half?

Chaplin: Nope.

Indigo: Three-fourths?

Chaplin: Indigo!

Hope you enjoyed the first Episode of "da Talks". I couldn't think of what to post about, so I just started writing, and this is what came out!

I also wan to post up these lryics. This is a terrific song, talking about praising God with our all, "even when" we don't feel like it.

Even When
Seven Places

This week, I prayed, one time
My phone. it rang. I put You on the other line
And now my thoughts they drift around
My knees remain unacquainted with the ground
Unless my faith is put to the test and I am forced to bow
Although I'm in this flesh it doesn't mean You shouldn't have the best

from me, from me

(chorus)
Even when my eyes are dry
even when my soul is tired
even when my hands are heavy, I will lift them up to You
It's not about how I feel, oh Lord I am here for You
I exist for you

I close my eyes but all I see
Is a background of black, bouncy squiggly lines
And this week's mistakes coming back to mind but
I will lift my voice and make a joyful sound
Forget about me, I only get me down
Although I cannot sing it doesn't mean I shouldn't sing to You, to You

(chorus)

You've given me Your life and have held mine together yet I find
Excuses to slouch in my pew
But when glory divine
Is sitting in my very presence, the least that I can do
Is give my all to You, give my all to You

You can listen to the song on the sid-bar.
God bless!

hola amigos!

Hey, my pastor (Dave Hastings) just started a really cool blog, and I'd like you all to check it out!

He's a really great guy, and I'm so blessed to have him as my pastor and leader. If you go to his blog, I promise you will be edified. I just was 2 minutes ago about his post on "the satisfaction of the soul". He talked about how we can "lift up our souls" to things like... egg rolls. Yeah... I know...

Ever had a really cool blessing in your life? Well, the Hastings have been a "really cool blessing" in my life! All of them... and there's like eight of them! Pastor Dave blesses me every Sunday! Nathan and Luke Hastings were the ones who practically dragged us to Teenpact. And they are also a big part of TfO and an encouragement to me. Mrs. Sandy is always a really nice lady, and always willing to sacrifice a bit. Seth is a nut. (kind'a like yours truly). Andrew's always ready to have fun with you. Sara is a sweet girl. And Steven cracks me up!

So drop by and shoot him a comment at:
http://davehastings.wordpress.com/

Oh, and be sure to tell him that he should change the name of his blog to "the Dave Cave". We had a talk about it last night, I told him he should name it "the Dave Cave". It's kind'a catchy, you know.

God bless the Hastings!

And be sure to give me a comment... AFTER you've gone to his blog.

so i've got a question: where are all the guy-bloggers? i should've addressed this issue before! out of the followers on my front page, there's only 1 guy! (thanks mr king) and 19 girls!

Woah, hey now!?

how'd that happen? I don't know. But as I look at everyone else's followers, the girls outnumber the guys by a lot too. so what is this? is blogger like a "girls-only guys-gotta-keep-out kind'a thing?"

so i repeat, where's all the guys?... all the guys... all the guys...

did anyone hear that echo? that was scary. im getting the chills.

why Jesus' coming was so rad to the Jews

Last night was our forth night at Perspectives, and It was terrific!

I learned a whole lot last night, but I'm only going to share with you a little bit so that you'll keep coming back to my blog. :)

So here's the question:
Why was Jesus' coming so rad to the Jews?

First, don't click the x in the top right hand corner, Second, let's look at a passage.

And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon." But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, "Send her away, for she is crying out after us." He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." But she came and knelt before him, saying, "Lord, help me." And he answered, "It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs." She said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table." Then Jesus answered her, "O woman, great is your faith!Be it done for you as you desire." And her daughter was healed instantly.

I guess if you're reading it means that you didn't click the x at the top right hand corner, that's great!

So, here's why Jesus' coming was so rad...

Because Jesus was rad! Whahoo, wasn't that deep!? Okay, not really.

Jesus did some pretty rad things if you can remember, so that's why his coming was so rad.

So here was the mindset of Jews (btw. this is important). They thought of the Gentiles as "filthy, pork-eatin', good-for-nothin', dogs". Jesus' mindset was that the gospel was for them (the pork-eating dogs), and not just the Jews!

And guys, the Jews failed! Israel failed big time! They (in football laguage) actually fumbled! As you can see in the passage right up there ^ the discilples didn't want to have anything to do with the Gentiles. What did they say to the Canninite woman? "Send her away." Whoa, hey now! Is that what we are called to do for the unsaved? Send them away? I don't think so. Jesus says (somethin' like this), "I came for Israel; should I take the scraps from the children and give them to the dogs?" And the woman responds, "Even the dogs will eat the scraps."

Woah, she got it right! God's grace is for all the nations not just for the Jews! The Jews had messed it all up! (stincks for them) So when Jesus came and started the church he did it to continue the work that Israel had failed in! The "church" was made to carry-on the work! God decided to no longer use Israel, but to create a people for him, known my the popular name of: Christians.

So here's my question: How are you doing?

God bless you in your pursuit.

wow, that last question was like ma-JOR you know? kind'a took the wind outta you, huh? I put all four words together by myself. :) Very deep, you know. You've got to be a deep theologian to come up with that one.

last night i slept in an igloo

That's right! My homeade igloo! Whahoo! I was miserable.

But, at least I can say that i did it!

I first lit a few candles in the igloo, and that warmed it up a bit, but at about 3:00 a.m, It was back to freezing. I mean, you're in an ice box!

So anyways, if you wanted to know how much of a nut I really am... there you go.

Yesterday, we also had a bunch of guys over, and we played some really good airsoft! It was the best, most brutal, behind-kickin' war ever. It would match WWII!

So I'll tell a few stories, just 'cause they're fun:
Clay (a dude with a full automatic machine gun) was shooting at a barricade, where my team was pinned down. I had a very good vantage point... right behind Clay. Athough I was still quite far away. So I strapped on my rockets, and flew towards him. We were probably a hundred feet away from eachother when I started shooting (I had a gas pistol with .2 gram shots). It took Clay a second to realize me, but when he did, he turned and set his full automatic on me. I continuued running at him. And he continued shooting. I unloaded my full clip at him! And he was shooting at me like crazy, and we both didn't get hit! What!?!

(and here's the bravest scene i saw) Kole was behind our "tower", with his sniper rifle, when Nathan made a charge with his wimpy-miniture-sized-machine-gun-that-couldn't-go-30-feet. Kole was shooting his SNIPER gun at him while Nathan came around to the other side of the tower, which was exposed... And ended up killing Kole.

Pretty fun stuff! And that there in the picture is me unleashing my mad-skills.
God bless you!
